Research and collaboration
Usage records from Senseroutine are used to improve the app and, once pseudonymised, in research. This page describes what that involves. The privacy policy governs the legal terms.
01What we study
The starting point is how people actually keep going with short reaction and memory exercises: which ones people stay with, what reminder time turns into a habit, and how that differs by age group.
On that basis we research and develop sensory training programmes, services that support dementia-prevention activity and healthy daily living, and services that support brain fitness.
We are pursuing partnerships with societies and research bodies in cognitive health, and intend to validate through them how sensory records can usefully be applied.
02What data is involved
- Training records — exercise type, result, when it happened, whether it continued
- Age band — ten-year bands, not a date of birth
- App flow — where sessions continue and where they stop
03How individuals are kept out of it
Data used in research is pseudonymised first: identifying parts are removed or replaced so that the data on its own does not reveal whose records it is.
Analysis and publication happen at group level only. An individual’s records are never reproduced.
04How findings are published
As statistics and group-level figures, including academic papers and conference presentations.
Within that purpose, pseudonymised data may be shared with research and academic institutions we work with. Nothing identifying a person is included.
05Working with us
For joint research, data collaboration or clinical and academic programme proposals, write to research@senseroutine.com.
Including the research question, the scope of data you would need, and your institution’s ethics review process makes the review much faster.
06If you would rather not take part
Write to privacy@senseroutine.com and we will stop processing anything collected from then on for research. The app keeps working exactly as before.
07To be clear
Senseroutine is not a medical device and claims no effect on any particular condition. This research is about building future services; it does not mean the app does something for you today.
